The social media experience is looking to expand into Europe and the MENA region. First international locations are set to open in Stockholm and Oberhausen.

Multimillion investment for this Instagram and TikTok Walhalla

Youseum opened its doors to the public in November 2019 in a pop-up location at the Amstel in Amsterdam. Despite lockdowns, it welcomed over 75.000 visitors in its first year. After this initial success, they opened the first Youseum Flagship location in Westfield Mall of the Netherlands in Leidschendam in June this year. Now six months later they raised €3 millions of growth capital from existing and new private equity and angel investors.

Museum all about YOU and your social media

With trends in social media and out-of-home leisure continuing to rise, Youseum combines the fun of an offline experience with the reach of social media. Visitors are taken on a tour that takes them through rooms designed to create content for social media channels including Instagram and TikTok.

“We aim to build playgrounds of boundless creativity that invite our visitors to play with social media. Meanwhile, we try to spark a discussion about the role of social media in our day-to-day lives” – says Joep Heusschen, COO and Co-founder.

Social media is here to stay – and so is the fun around it

Co-founder and CEO Koen Derks thinks that while mediums such as Instagram and TikTok might be replaced by new platforms, the concept of social media as an important part in our lives is here to stay.

The new Youseum locations are opening in Westfield Mall of Scandinavia in Stockholm and Westfield CentrO in Oberhausen.
