Pride Week: If the Youseum rooms were LGBTQ songs

This week marks Amsterdam Pride week. Sadly, the pride festivities have been cancelled this summer, but this doesn’t mean you won’t be able to celebrate! Youseum is a great alternative to experience the joy, the thrill, and the glamour of a Pride festival. We have always been big supporters of the LGBTQ+ community and the immaculate queer culture that have all made Youseum to what it is today. And we will continue to express this through our art and brand, and now through our chambers too!

Youseum’s curated rooms full of colorful art installations are enhanced by Youseum’s dedicated playlists, playing the most suitable songs by numerous LGBTQ+ icons we cannot get enough of. Once you’re in our entrance hall, Lady Gaga’s Rain On Me is already there to welcome you, but what Pride anthems for each room can you expect if you decide to give us a visit?

1. The Vault: Savage Remix by Megan Thee Stallion & Beyoncé

The money vault playlist is not only home to talented male rappers, it harbors the female goddesses in Hip-Hop and R&B as well. A once-in-a-lifetime collab between two queens, singing about being bougie savages, is thé perfect track to represent the vault full of Youseum’s currencies you can flaunt while taking the best selfies. Because YOU are the savage now too in that room!

2. Video Room: Don’t Start Now by Dua Lipa

Nothing says gay rights like disco! That’s why this retro style disco-track is the most suitable for the old school televisions in the video room, where you can watch yourself dance and be the star in an 80s music video. We have made the video room very nostalgic by playing songs that sound like they are straight from the time those TV’s were made. So get your groove on and get on the dance floor!

3. Likes Factory: thank u, next by Ariana Grande

The Likes Factory room is all about self-love and gratitude, because if you can’t love yourself, how the hell are you going to love somebody else? Can I get an Amen up here? Even stronger is that it’s unapologetically pink and glittery, and these are all aspects of what makes this space perfect to blast Ariana’s bubblepop-jam thank u, next!

4. Green Loft: Want You In My Room by Carly Rae Jepsen

Starting off right where Cindy Lauper left off, this 80s-influenced track is one of the best songs played in the loft room, where the green bathtub and magazine booths are also located. It’s a place to chill, relax and take selfies, because it is your room now too! And an infectious song like Want You In My Room, will make you want to invite anyone and dance super gay from couch to bathtub feeling completely liberated.

5. Wedding Chapel: My My My by Troye Sivan

Our queer wedding chapel is where all couples can get married and take gorgeous photos. Backed by one of the best gay artists out there right now, your ceremony won’t ever get dull with the pop-hit My My My playing in the back. It’s an anthem of individual freedom and sexual liberation, perfectly suited for you to dance your way to the altar with that special someone!

6. Ball Pit: Say So Remix by Doja Cat & Nicki Minaj

Another remix with an iconic female collaboration! Did you know that this and the Savage Remix held the top two spots on the Hot 100 for a time? Four women considered gay icons, a definite win for the LGBT indeed! And more than appropriate to be the main anthem for Youseum’s biggest room: the retro styled Ball Pit Room. The 80s-inspired Say So will help you pretend you’re at a beach bar wearing the finest denims and neons, while taking the most impeccable selfies.
